The Flesch-Kincaid formula (206.835 - 1.015 × avg sentence length - 84.6 × avg syllables per word) is applied in four steps.
Sentence segmentation
Statements ending with a full stop, exclamation mark, or question mark are counted as sentences. Average sentence length is calculated.
Syllable estimation
